Book Review: Cress By Marissa Meyer

Book Description:
Rapunzel’s tower is a satellite. She can’t let down her hair—or her guard.

In this third book in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.

Their best hope lies with Cress, who has been trapped on a satellite since childhood with only her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker—unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing stop her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only ones who can.

My Thoughts:
Once again the author meets the highest of standards in taking a well known and loved fairy tale, twisting it enough to keep the original idea and yet make her own.

This unique telling of Rapunzel and the prince was so sweet. I don't know what I can say without giving the whole story away if you haven't read book 1 or book 2.

Needless to say the story as a whole get more and more complicated and then leaves you hurting and aching yet satisfied. The author takes you on a journey of a girl kept away in a satellite for 7 years doing the evil queen's bidding. But smart Cress learns more about the people of earth and takes pity on some of them, even falling in love with one from afar. She sees things from a completely innocent point of few, for one who watched humans for most of her life she is fascinated with them and eventually wants to be among them. When a chance comes to be with Cinder and her gang she jumps at the opportunity but at the very last second things go wrong and the whole gang is throw apart.

Twists and turns, new characters being brought in and mixed well in this incredible story of Cinder, Scarlette, Wolf, and now Cress it's simply amazing and a must own series.

Now just have to wait a WHOLE YEAR for the 4th book. *sigh* what am I going to do with myself...
