BOOK ONE BOOK TWO
Obsidian Description:
Starting over sucks. When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don't kill him first, that is.
My Thoughts:
I really enjoyed this book, I enjoyed the aspect that it is about ALIENS!!! WAHOO!!! hahaha ok, ok, seriously it was a fun way (not in the least bit new concept) to bring on the aliens!
Katy-one of 3 of the main characters, I like her sass, and the way she can just stick it to people but at the same time a girl like everybody else when they first move to a new town and place and have to start fresh. I like how she isn't a perfect 0 size jean girl and LOVES to get her hands in the dirt and get sweaty and dirty. She has normal teenage feelings and does things that teenagers to. Very realistic.
Daemon-is the HOT alien! haha really?! absolutely! wow that sounds silly but anyway. Daemon at first meeting is a bit of a douche canoe and I liked that because Katy doesn't put up with it, and knowing me I love romances where they are rude and sarcastic to each other but can't stay away from each other!
Dee-the girl EVERYONE wishes they had as a best friend. Dee is just the prettiest, sweetest girl on the planet. You just like her from the start.
Overall the book was not cheesy when it came to the aspects of aliens, the romance was fun a bit on the heavy side full of sexual frustrations.
Sexual Content: moderate (PG-13 due to a HEAVY make out scene so beware)

Onyx Description:
Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…
Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.
Something worse than the Arum has come to town…
The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.
But then everything changes…
I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?
No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…
My Thoughts:
UGH! MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT!!! Can be PLEASE get past the sexual frustration and the irritating OVER analyzing, hormonal, teenage drama already?! UGGGGHHHHH! This seemed like 50% sexual frustration drama and 50% awesome alien story!
I loved Katy a lot in the first book, she was strong and awesome that didn't attitude Daemon threw at her. But in this one? she changed. Now she is this insecure girl. Daemon was a fun bad boy in the first book and I loved the interaction between him and Katy, the chemistry and the witty lines. But now? the chemistry was just off! I didn't feel anything! It's really sad, frustrating and annoying!
And what's this? Make out every other page? as a goodreads put it so perfectly, "Be prepared for nothing but a string of make out scenes and innuendo filled dialogue, where every event is a prelude to or excuse for more making out! Had a fight? Make out! Stakeout? Make out in the car! A friend just died? Skip the funeral and get over your grief by making out two pages later! Don’t worry, it’s tragic, not gauche at all, I promise!" -Mitch
I mean really? we women aren't all horn bags who like to read this but would enjoy a bit of story line!
Overall: just disappointing in regards to an actual story line if you like this kind of sexual tension without the actual detailed sex scene then this series is it.
