Book Description:
A threat from the past could destroy the future. And the clock is ticking...
Kaleb Ballard was never supposed to be able to see ripples - cracks in time. Are his powers expanding, or is something very wrong? Before he can find out, Jonathan landers, the man who tried to murder is father, reappears. Why is he back, and what, or whom, does he want?
In the wake of Landers' return, the Hourglass organization is given an ultimatum. Either they find Jack and the research he's stolen on the people who might carry the time gene, or time will be altered - with devastating results for the people Kaleb loves most.
Now Kaleb, Emerson, Michael, and the other Hourglass recruits have no choice but to use their unusual powers to find Landers. But where do they even start? And when? And even if they succeed, it may not be enough...

My Thoughts:
Lets start with what I DID like about the book...
Some didn't like the fact that this book was written from Kaleb's proscriptive rather than Emerson's, which the first book (Hourglass). Well I did, simply because it was just different to be in the same series yet see it from someone else eyes. I liked that. I like the whole idea of this story, the time traveling, special abilities that only have to deal with time traveling. It's just different and fun!
Ok, what I DIDN'T like about it was the fact that Kaleb is a sexually frustrated whiner... It was mostly listening to Kaleb talk about whine and pine, pine and whine some more, feel some emotions, and go back to whining and pining. Add some extremely hormonal feelings for a girl physically and you've got the book!
Seriously...
I also thought the relationship between Emerson and Michae,l although at times were cute, got a little too sappy for me.
It's only redeeming quality about this book was the adventure with the time traveling and trying to save themselves and each others time lines while Kaleb shows us what he can do and still get the sassy girl.
Lily was a fun character, I like a woman who can take charge, give back, stand strong and have sass all at the same time! but then of course they generally fall which was fine but whatever... So it was kinda fun to watch Lily and Kaleb hate each other (Kaleb of course being physically attracted and that's it till later on when he stops whining for a few minutes) and then like each other those are always fun stories.
Recommend? If you're into time traveling adventures and can get over the rest of it.
