Book Review: On the Fence By: Kasie West

COMING SOON: JULY 1, 2014

Book Description:
She's a tomboy. He's the boy next door…

Charlie Reynolds can outrun, outscore, and outwit every boy she knows. But when it comes to being a girl, Charlie doesn't know the first thing about anything. So when she starts working at a chichi boutique to pay off a speeding ticket, she finds herself in a strange new world. To cope with the stress of her new reality, Charlie takes to spending nights chatting with her neighbor Braden through the fence between their yards. As she grows to depend on their nightly Fence Chats, she realizes she's got a bigger problem than speeding tickets-she's falling for Braden. She knows what it means to go for the win, but if spilling her secret means losing him for good, the stakes just got too high.

Fun, original, and endearing, On the Fence is a romantic comedy about finding yourself and finding love where you least expect.
My Thoughts:
I love Kasie West, her books, are super cute, clean, and have happy endings so if you are looking for a cute, cheesy, sweet story with likable characters you'll love her work and that includes this one.

Charlie is being raised by her brothers and her father after her mother dies. She's a girl who is a tomboy and feels like she has to keep up with her brothers and keeps "girly" things to a minimum and on the down low due to her sweet, kind, father who doesn't know anything about raising a girl.
Charlie is very likable because you see her WANT to be a girl and dress like one yet she is so used to being a tomboy she doesn't know any different and kind of shuns "girly" stuff.

After getting a job she meets all sorts of people who love her and because they are girls she doesn't know how to "be" with them. What she doesn't realize is that they like her just as she is and just want to have fun with her.

Bradon is a neighbor Charlie has always grown up with and was treated like a sister by him. Things are different in his household that is separated only by a fence. When one night they meet up by the fence and start charing, it became a ritual that drew them together as they talked about what was going on yet keeping many things still secret.

Overall this story is about finding yourself and stepping out of your comfort zone to explore the possibilities and fun side of new things.
