Book Review: Elseerian By: Ben Hale

Book Description:
The assassination of heroes was once a warning--for an invasion that nearly destroyed the world. On the brink of total victory, the black horde mysteriously vanished, leaving terrified survivors...and rumors. As the centuries passed, the holocaust faded into legend, and finally myth. But death is stalking heroes once more, and only a miracle will allow life to survive again..a miracle named Elseerian.
My Thoughts:
FUN! that's what this book was, crazy cool fun! Fantasy book lovers this is one you should give a try because it's darker than your average young adult book and the characters are interesting, the story line may not be original but it's fast paced and when it comes to the action the author doesn't mess around because it's packed! But it also flows very nicely The world building was fascinating, the author did a through job of description and paid attention to detail. This story has everything a fantasy lover would want dwarfs, elfs, trolls, giants, humans, dark elfs, amazons, barbarians, demons and more

Our main character Taryn Elseerian is interesting, because for someone who doesn't like to kill or he can't kill (if I'm not mistaken) and tries not to, he is in an awful lot of fight scenes. He is likeable, relatable and easy to connect with. Although he is part elf, dwarf and human, which all parts of him play an important role in saving the world. He is orphaned and raised by and weapons master who is elven on an island of warriors which explains the crazy fight scenes. When Taryn becomes of age he leaves his him to find out about his true origins and find the Oracle and he leaves with 2 of his friends. And their adventures along the way with a nice undertone of romance which keeps us girls wanting more. The banter between them is fun and entertaining and there were times I chuckled.

The main villain is I think Death himself and he was crazy scary and well written. In the beginning of the story it starts you off with a fight with Death and just a great beginning to the story.

Overall this was a GREAT start to a promising series. With adventures galore, romance, action and some humor this fantasy book offers a lot and is worth reading.
