Book Review: Of Poseidon By: Anna Banks

Book Description:
Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen—literally, ouch!—both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma's gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom...

Told from both Emma and Galen's points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.
My Thoughts:
Mermaids hahaha it was a easy fun read, I thought it was going to be about Greek Mythology, but instead, I get Mermaids or should I say Mermans! It was cute yet typical, a story about mermaids was new for me but the overall idea of the story was not...I was a little surprised with the abrupt ending but of course it did that because this is a series! hello! My little sister liked it a lot but for me it was just nothing new.

Ok so, Syrena (underwater world of mermaids) Prince Galen was searching for a girl in land, who has gift of speaking with fish. When Emma bumps into Galen, he felt a connection with her but he wasn’t sure Emma is the one. The more they got to know each other the more they got close, and the more Galen was convinced Emma is Of Poseidon who holds the key to save his kingdom. If Emma is truly Of Poseidon she has to marry Galen’s older brother Grom. And during this whole time Emma has no idea about anything in regards to this.

What I liked about Emma was she was headstrong, feisty, independent and doesn't listen to Galen and even makes fun of Galen's Royalness and get under his skin.

I rolled my eyes a lot when it came to Galen because his has a jealous and anger side, which resulted in hurting people around him. So yeah he has "Overbearing Boyfriend Syndrome". And because of that I don't love him, don't hate him. But I've lost respect for him as a character and was like, meh whatever...

Overall it was cute but a little over the top too cute for me because I can see the appeal.

Language: Mild (I think)
Sexual Content: mild (they do however, talk a lot about mermaids and mating-weird).
Drugs/Alcohol: mild
Violence: mild
