Book Review: Unbreakable by Kami Garcia

Book Description:
Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

My Thoughts:
Uh WOW, holy action-packed, non-stop moving book! Geez! Let me take a breather! GAH and the creepy ghosts/poltergeists/demon/evil spirits things have now entered my head and have to sleep with the lights on. I don't do well with horror (lets be honest it wasn't THAT bad but for someone who can't watch previews of horror films this had me sleeping with A light on)

I completely enjoyed this book, Kennedy Waters  thought just a normal 17 year old girl, and boy was she wrong. She never really felt, though, like she belonged at school because of the one thing that sets her apart and that is the fact that she has a photographic memory.  Other than that, her life is pretty normal. She lives with her Mom whom she is really close to and love dearly till a night when Kennedy goes off to the movies with her friend and comes home to find her mother dead.

It is mentioned that Kennedy's father left them when Kennedy was very small and she is not close to her mother's sister, so after the death of her mother, it was arranged to have Kennedy go to a boarding school. However the night before she is to leave, something tries to kill her. And right into her life, her house, her bedroom, runs two hot looking twins, Lucas and Jared.

Without giving too much away Kennedy is then forced to join these guys (and later a small group of other kids) in order to stay alive and one-step ahead of whatever it is that is trying to kill THEM.

This story turns into a wonderful, SCARY mystery chase of clues, and searches in order to piece together the one thing they think might save them.

I really did like this book. The action starts right away and doesn't slow down.  I enjoyed every character in this book. There was a good balance of everything that I like in a book, humor, action, romance (not heavy), & mystery, with a twist I was NOT EXPECTING! RUDE! Plus a bit of a cliff hanger and I can't wait for the next book!
