Book Review: Pawn By: Aimee Carter

COMING SOON: NOVEMBER 26, 2013

Book Description:
YOU CAN BE A VII. IF YOU GIVE UP EVERYTHING.

For Kitty Doe, it seems like an easy choice. She can either spend her life as a III in misery, looked down upon by the higher ranks and forced to leave the people she loves, or she can become a VII and join the most powerful family in the country.

If she says yes, Kitty will be Masked—surgically transformed into Lila Hart, the Prime Minister's niece, who died under mysterious circumstances. As a member of the Hart family, she will be famous. She will be adored. And for the first time, she will matter.

There's only one catch. She must also stop the rebellion that Lila secretly fostered, the same one that got her killed…and one Kitty believes in. Faced with threats, conspiracies and a life that's not her own, she must decide which path to choose—and learn how to become more than a pawn in a twisted game she's only beginning to understand.
My Thoughts:
You know...of all the dystopian books that are flooding the market right now because it's "in," there really are very few that end up being original. Happily Pawn is to be one of them. Well this book has it all! No love triangles (although I was hoping for a different outcome in the romance department), there was family drama, action, political intrigue, romance, friendship, bonding, twists and turns it was just full and jammed packed with everything.

I was SUPER excited to get this book in advance from Netgalley and I couldn't wait to get started. I LOVE dystopian novels and this was no exception. I couldn't put it down. This is a very fast pace book. A little too fast for my taste and not enough building up. It was just GO GO GO which was fine I just wish for a little more of the book. Which is good right?

Kitty turns 17 and has to take a test to find out where she will be the rest of her life. Sadly she scores low and with no other alternative she tries to leave but ends up being given a choice. To join the ruling family or die. Of course she choses to join the ruling family and finds out that nothing was explained and now she is locked into her new situation.

Without giving too much away since the book comes out soon just know that it was light fun that is a fast easy read.
