Book Review: Angelfall By: Susan Ee

Book Description:
It's been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.

Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.

Raffe is a warrior who lies broken and wingless on the street. After eons of fighting his own battles, he finds himself being rescued from a desperate situation by a half-starved teenage girl.

Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they have only each other to rely on for survival. Together, they journey toward the angels' stronghold in San Francisco where she'll risk everything to rescue her sister and he'll put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.

My Thoughts:
OH MY FREAKING HECK! I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK! SO MUCH that once I was done reading this I bought it. Yes, yes I did...

This is a quick read, and it's so well written that even though it's so short it doesn't leave you empty. Just makes you CRAVE for more! AAAHHH I love this book! I don't even know where to begin and how to fit it all in because there is just SOOO much about this book I just...blah

Alright, alright. So this is a post apocalyptic world where the world has been demolished and humans are fighting to survive.  It only took for the beautiful angels of destruction to bring the world to it's knees. And now after six weeks the world has little order where chaos and gangs terrorize by day, and the supernatural terrorize by night.

Penryn (LOVE that name) one night, takes her family (her psychotic mother and sister who is in a wheelchair) braves the night to find a safer harbor. Just barely out the door and they come across a major struggle between an angel called Raffe and his fellow brethren, Penryn mother immediately flees and Penryn tries to run with her little sister and yet Penryn who HATES the angels wanted to leave the angel to die but feels bad for the lone angel that she tries to help him and because of her help her little sister is abducted and Penryn is left alone with this badly beaten angel who is now wingless. They must begrudgingly team up with one another so that they can get back what they want most; Penryn, her sister, and Raffe, his wings. And they face almost any and every danger along the way.

There is a story behind Penryn's mother, her sister, and the author ties it all together in this amazing world. It just sucks you in and leaves you drained and yet wanting more!

And that my friends is all I'm going to leave you with so I don't give anything away!

Violence: HEAVY (this is GRAPHIC in human/angel experiments, murders etc.)

  1. That is an apt description - I was drained when I was done reading because I couldn't stop myself from staying up all night to read it! haha - just finished World After - still thoroughly enjoyed it but loved the first more!
